Some New Additions to the Virtual Library

Here are a few new additions to the virtual library catalogue. Not as many as usual but more will follow!

It is interesting and very good to see that the staff of the Maria Hari Library at the Pető András Főiskola has been uploading some lists of its holdings. Let’s hope there will be more of these to come too.

New Additions to the Conductive Education Virtual Library Catalogue

The catalogue now has over 600 entries of material on the Internet, some link to the full document and some just to a link requiring payment to get the complete item. It has taken nearly seven years to compile this listing and I am still finding more material.

This new additions list is a mixture of newly published material and older articles just been made available on the web.

Items added to the Virtual Library Catalogue, Summer 2015

At last after all my technical problems (thank you for sorting it, Ben) I am able to post a list of new items in the Virtual Library Catalogue.

It is the usual mixture of journal articles, papers, leaflets and also this time, some abstracts and poster presentations from the World Congress of Conductive Education in Munich, 2013.

URLs for Conductive Education blog and virtual catalogue

Nearly two years ago hackers got into my Conductive Education Information blog at www.gillian-maguire.info and the virtual library catalogue at http://virtualcelibrary.blogspot.co.uk/, making it impossible for me to access them.

Consequently, these two locations are now no longer anything to do with me and I have not added or removed any postings for a long time now,  it is impossible for me to do so.

Why the hackers did this I have no idea, I assume just for the fun of it.

All blog postings have been copied and transferred to this location and the virtual library catalogue was moved to e-conduction’s website in 2010 at

e-conduction.org/virtual-library-main-page/

Over the weekend I had a notification from Google that my URL www.gillian-maguire.info was due for renewal and after thinking long and carefully about this I have decided that I will let it go and not renew it.

This blog has its own URL as can be seen above this posting, and the catalogue is accessible via E-CONDUCTION.

All  those of you who have links to the old URLs please remove them and replace with :

New Additions to the Virtual Catalogue February 2015

Sixteen items have been added to the catalogue over the past weeks making a total of 543 items.

http://e-conduction.org/virtual-library-new/

There is a variety of items this time  including a  powerpoint presentation, bibliography, blog posting, thesis and various documents. Of particular interest is an article from 1990 describing  participation in the international course at the Peto Institute. A little gem! Occasionally these turn up in my searches, and it is a pleasure to add them to the catalogue.

Keeping the Virtual Catalogue up to date

The Internet is ever-changing and items go up, items are taken down and sometimes items are moved to a new location. This means that the virtual catalogue is not always 100% accurate, though every effort is made to keep it up to date.

http://e-conduction.org/virtual-library-new/

Today I was informed that one of the links in the catalogue is no longer working and after checking I have discovered that now the item is no longer available. This means that there is no longer information on the internet about the proposed new Conductive Education degree at  Evangelische Hochschule, Nürnberg, due to start in September 2015. Consequently, this item has now been deleted from the catalogue.

All that left about this course is a news item on the German Conductors’ Association with a link to a PDF summarising its contents over seven semesters:

http://konduktorenverband.de/de/aktuelles/!/show/5/studiengang-heilpaedagogik-konduktive-paedagogik-ab-2015-in-nuernberg/

If you come across any links that are broken or do not lead anywhere, I would be grateful if you would please let me know so I can investigate and check if it has moved or is no longer available.

Your help is needed  to make sure the catalogue is as up to date as possible, as I cannot do it all on my own.

Conductive Education appearing in unexpected places

I was searching for more references for the Virtual Library catalogue and  found one in an unexpected place. An online journal, Advances in Bio-Medical Sciences. On checking the list of references in this article, I found another unexpected source, the Journal of the American Osteopathic Association.

On going to the second journal’s website I found membership is needed to find out more and so I have written in to ask for help.

I will let you know how I get on.

It shows how  articles are now popping up in all sorts of publications.

Have you found any?
